Shiksha welcomes individuals and organizations that wish to volunteer and share their happiness with its students and take back to home lots of love and smiles of our children.
Your presence alone and your interest in the children’s lives make a huge difference to them. Depending on your previous knowledge and skills you may teach English, music, dancing, mathematics or computer skills. You can also help with cooking, eating, admin tasks or support them with their homework. Any effort will contribute to a better life for these children.
If you want to come closer and visit us sometime to see what we are doing, we would simply love it. We believe you are lucky to be out there, talented and doing so many fantastic things. It would be great if you could stop by and share some of the exciting things with us sometime. We are happy to learn from you and share our day with you.
Your Contribution
While shiksha continues with its mission, it has from time to time faced shortage of funds for further expansion of its activities. With the grace of god and help of well-wishers, so far funds have not been a hindrance in the ongoing activities. However, there is much more to be done to meet our goal and expectations of the poorer strata of the society by opening more and more such primary schools and to upgrade at least one school to 10+2, which would help in building a more harmonious society.
Therefore, shiksha needs your valuable contribution and will depend on your generosity to provide education to more and more underprivileged children. Education of these children up to primary school level costs about Rs. 5000/=(US $100) per child per year.
Please do give these children the opportunity to bring their dreams a little closer to reality, which they very much deserve.
